Ch.01The premise
No conclusions handed down in advance — only a question and the work of answering it carefully.
The Steady is a documentary-style civic series. Each episode begins with an honest question about how power, public trust, and community actually work — then follows the record through research, sources, and story.
The aim is not to provoke or to settle a score. It is to explain something real about American civic life clearly enough that a thoughtful person can follow it, weigh it, and decide what they think.
Ch.02The terms
Ch.03How the series works
Every episode follows the same path. The question comes first; the narrative comes last, accountable to what the evidence shows.
We open with a genuine question about how civic life works — not a conclusion we set out to prove.
We read the record, the data, and the history before anyone steps in front of a camera.
We go to the people closest to it — officials, experts, and citizens who live the story.
Only then do we shape the narrative, keeping it accountable to what the evidence shows.
We check the work against the sources, correct what needs correcting, and publish.
Ch.04Episode 01
Episode 01 looks at America's 250th year through civic life, public trust, and the unfinished experiment — beginning in Dallas and asking what the country's founding promises mean when they reach the local level.
