Steady America is an independent media company based in Dallas, Texas. We produce documentary-style civic media about public life, institutional trust, power, and community.
We are a company, not a movement, a campaign, a nonprofit, or a political project. We are independent of parties and institutions, and we keep that independence at the center of how we work.

We are based in Dallas because civic life is most legible up close — in a real place, with real institutions, where national questions take on a local shape. Dallas gives the work a vantage point and a home.
Beginning here keeps us honest. It is harder to abstract away the people a story touches when they are your neighbors.
